Our Children's Program

BCA offers a wide-range of classes for children ages 3 and up, including ballet, tap/jazz, broadway jazz, and hip-hop. These classes are open to anyone and include beginner and intermediate level young dancers. While most children enroll at the beginning of the year, we encourage all interested parents to contact us regarding class availability anytime during the year. Young dancers with a serious interest in ballet may want to learn more about our Beginner Pre-Professional program.

Performing Opportunities

Dancers in our Children's program perform in BCA's annual recital at the Diana Wortham Theatre in downtown Asheville. In addition, we welcome our talented young dancers to audition for BCA's Nutcracker and Spring ballets.

Our Boys Program

BCA offers boys ages 7 and up a robust program of dance including Boys ballet class, regular ballet class, modern, jazz, and tap. We make every attempt to keep our boys together so they can build important bonds between themselves and their teachers. Boys with a serious interest in ballet are also encouraged to learn more about our Pre-Professional program. Our experience has shown that well-trained boys are often offered full scholarships to many of the finest summer intensive programs. In addition, boys that complete our Pre-Professional program should be presented with a wide variety of opportunities at the college and professional level.

Performing Opportunities

Boys play important roles in BCA ballets, especially the Nutcracker. We strongly encourage all our boys to participate in our productions as well as our annual recital, all of which occur at the Diana Wortham Theatre in downtown Asheville.

Pre-Professional Ballet Training

BCA's Pre-Professional division prepares dancers ages 10 and up for careers in the dance profession, post-secondary dance programs and universities, conservatories, and other top pre-professional programs. Admission is by audition. BCA's pre-professional dancers are routinely cast in soloist and corps de ballet roles in BCA's Nutcracker and Spring ballets. Our students have been placed in many of the top-tier ballet schools, academies, and universities in the U.S., including School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre School, San Francisco Ballet School, and New York University/Tisch School of the Arts.

Enjoy Summer 2012 With BCA June 4 - August 18!

During summer 2012, BCA offers a wide variety of open classes and workshops for ages 3 and up, including ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, and modern. These classes and workshops are ideal for any dancer from beginner to professional. Classes are offered at affordable summer rates and convenient class times. In addition, BCA's summer intensive offers serious young dancers ages 10 and up a month-long, all-day ballet ballet training intensive. It runs from June 25 to July 21. See you in class!

Children’s Summer Workshops

All workshops meet Monday to Friday. Fees are $155 per week plus $10 summer registration fee for new students. Take $10 off for each additional workshop. Broadway Week is $290 for both morning and afternoon sessions, a savings of $20.
