BCA's Pre-Professional Division Announces Summer Intensive, University, and Traineeship Acceptances

BCA's Pre-Professional Division is delighted to announce its Summer Intensive, University, and Traineeship acceptances for the 2013 summer and the 2013-2014 school year. Master Classes with Nick Kepley Beginning March 26!

BCA is delighted to announce that Motion Dance + Theatre director Nick Kepley will return to BCA at the end of March for a series of three ballet master classes. The classes will run from 10:00 to 11:30 on Tuesday, March 26, Thursday, March 28 and Saturday, March 30. These classes are open to any Int./Adv. dancer and ALL dancers are welcome!  The cost is $25 per class ($20 for BCA students). For more info call BCA at 828-255-5777.  See you in class!

Master Class with NYCB Legend Mel Tomlinson This Saturday!

The Ballet Conservatory is thrilled to host a Master Class with Mel Tomlinson this Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00. The Master Class will consist of a 1½ hour ballet class and a ½ hour question & answer session with Mr. Tomlinson. The cost is $25 ($20 for BCA students). This class is suitable for the intermediate/advanced ballet dancer. The studio will be open from 12:30 to 1:00 for warm-up.

Considered one of the greatest male ballet dancers of his generation, Mr. Tomlinson danced as a soloist with New York City Ballet from 1981 to 1987, Dance Theater of Harlem, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Boston Ballet. He served on the dance faculty of Boston Ballet and North Carolina School of the Arts. The New York Times called his performance of George Balanchine's Agon "dynamic and electric."

Get Ready for Summer Intensive 2013 Audition Season!

The 2013 summer intensive audition season is here! And all BCA Pre-Pros should begin getting their summer plans in order. If you're planning on going away for the summer, we have lots of great downloads, videos, message board info, and much more on the BCA Pre-Pro page. Auditions start the first weekend in January, so don't delay! And if you're planning on staying there this summer, make sure to learn more about BCA's Summer Intensive 2013. It's going to be great!

BCA will hold special holiday ballet classes beginning the day after Christmas! Here's the schedule:

These are OPEN classes.  Anyone who works at the appropriate level can attend!  So, they're great for visiting dancers and friends.  All classes are $17 each.  Please pay as you go -- just drop your check in the payment box! Enjoy Summer 2013 With BCA June 3 to August 17!

During summer 2013, BCA offers a wide variety of open classes-- including ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, and modern -- as well as special "themed" ballet workshops for children. These classes and workshops are ideal for any dancer from beginner to professional. Classes are offered at affordable summer rates and convenient class times. In addition, BCA's summer intensive offers serious young dancers ages 10 and up a month-long, all-day ballet ballet training intensive. It runs from June 24 to July 20. See you in class!

Children’s Summer Workshops

All workshops meet Monday to Friday. Fees are $155 per week plus $10 summer registration fee for new students. Take $10 off for each additional workshop. Broadway Week is $290 for both morning and afternoon sessions, a savings of $20.

Held during the three weeks before and three weeks after BCA's summer intensive. These classes are geared toward dancers ages 10 to 12 working at the beginning intermediate level in ballet.

Monday and Wednesday, 2:00 to 4:00

Payment Options:

1. Unlimited Classes for all 6 weeks $130 or $25 per week.

2. Individual Class drop-in rate $17.

$10 summer registration fee for new students.

Open Int./Adv. Ballet/Pointe, Modern, & Hip Hop Classes

June 3 to 22 AND July 29 to August 17

Held during the three weeks before and three weeks after BCA's summer intensive. The ballet classes are geared toward dancers ages 13 and over working at the intermediate to advanced level in ballet. The modern and hip hop classes are open to anyone.

Int./Adv. Ballet & Pointe: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 4:00 to 6:00; Saturday, 10:00 to 12:00

Int./Adv. Modern: Thursday, 4:00 to 5:00

Int./Adv. Hip Hop: Thursday, 5:00 to 6:00

Payment Options:

1. Unlimited Classes for all 6 weeks *$340 or $60 per week (*$320 if enrolled in BCA Summer Intensive).

2. Class Card $160 for 10 classes.

Welcome to Ballet Conservatory of Asheville

Welcome! We're Ballet Conservatory of Asheville (BCA) and we're delighted you've taken the opportunity to learn more about us. We offer dance programs for children, teens/adults, and pre-professionals. Included are classes in nearly every major dance form, from ballet and pointe to tap, jazz, hip-hop and modern. We welcome all dancers with any level of experience from ages 3 to adult. In addition to our regular school year programs, we also offer summer classes & workshops for all ages and a summer intensive for serious ballet dancers.

Our philosophy is simple: We want our students to gain good technique, learn proper class etiquette, and enjoy the wonderful world of dance. And while we offer classes in all disciplines, we are primarily a ballet school with a strong pre-professional training program.

Our faculty brings rich professional backgrounds and outstanding teaching and education credentials. BCA's leadership team includes Angie Lynn (Director), Wayne Burritt (Ballet Master), and Christopher Lynn (Managing Director). Our professional facilities are located in the 5 Points Building, 6 East Chestnut Street, Asheville, North Carolina.

We produce the Nutcracker, a Spring ballet, and a Recital each year. Our performances are produced at Asheville's Diana Wortham Theatre, widely considered to be one of the finest dance venues in the U.S.

How To Enroll

Enrolling in BCA's programs is easy. First, discover our different programs and what classes you are interested in. Then, download and fill out a registration form. At that point, please feel free to give us a call at 828-255-5777 or drop by our studios at 6 East Chestnut Street, Asheville. We can help you decide which classes are ideal for you, space availability, and fees. We'll then give you the details about your classes, a copy of our policies and procedures, and you'll be all set.
