Join us this summer in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina for a four week ballet intensive unlike any other. Ages 10 and up. Room & Board available. Auditions are Sunday, February 19, 2012 or by videotape.
Ballet Conservatory of Asheville -- La Fille Mal Gardee 2012
North Carolina Dance Theatre principal dancer Addul Manzano will star as Colas -- opposite BCA's own Sarah London as Lise -- in La Fille Mal Gardee. Addul brings the perfect blend of technical prowess and strong acting ability to this delightful ballet about young love. Ballet Conservatory of Asheville Pre-Professional Training
BCA's Pre-Professional division prepares dancers ages 9 and up for careers in the dance profession, post-secondary dance programs and universities, conservatories, and other top pre-professional programs.
Boys Program
Ballet Conservatory of Asheville
BCA offers boys ages 7 and up a robust program of dance. Our experience has shown that well-trained boys are often offered full scholarships to many of the finest summer intensive programs. Boys also play important roles in many of BCA's ballets, especially the Nutcracker.
Children
Ballet Conservatory of Asheville Children
Our classes for children 3 and up include ballet, tap, and broadway jazz. Our talented young dancers often perform in the Nutcracker and Spring ballets. Young dancers with a serious interest in ballet may want to learn more our Beginner Pre-Professional program.
Teens + Adults
Ballet Conservatory of Asheville Teens Adults
Our teens enjoy classes in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. These classes are open to anyone and include beginner and intermediate level dancers.

BCA Hosts Two Master Classes in May!

BCA will host two ballet Master Classes in May.  On Saturday, May 26 from 12:00 to 1:30 North Carolina Dance Theatre principal dancer Addul Manzano will teach at BCA.  Addul is a wonderful dancer and will play the role of Colas in BCA's production of La Fille.  Then, on Sunday, May 27 from 12:00 to 1:30 Nick Kepley will teach his second master class at BCA.  Nick just finished another run of Broadway's Mary Poppins and is the director of Motion Dance +Theatre.  These classes are open to any qualified dancer and ALL dancers are welcome!  The cost is $20 per class for BCA students ($30 for both classes).  The cost is $25 per class for visitors and guests.  For more info call BCA at 828-255-5777.  See you in class!

Graduating BCA Seniors Capture Numerous University Dance Scholarships!

BCA's Pre-Professional Division is delighted to announce that's it's two graduating seniors -- Ciera Barrow and Caroline Carlton -- have received multiple scholarships and acceptances to many top university ballet programs.

Ciera was accepted to University of South Carolina, Kennesaw State University, and University of Georgia.  She won scholarships to University of South Carolina and University of Georgia.  She will attend University of South Carolina in the Fall 2012.

Caroline was accepted to Marymount Manhattan University, Ohio State University, Point Park University, and Virginia Commonwealth University.  She won scholarships to Marymount Manhattan University and Point Park University.  She will attend Marymount Manhattan University in the Fall 2012.

Both of these talented young dancers have proven that dedication, hard work, and unrelenting desire have real world implications in the field of dance.  BCA could not be prouder of their accomplishments.  Congrats Ciera and Caroline! Learn more about BCA's Pre-Professional Division.

Recital 2012 Info Available!

BCA will hold its Spring Recital 2012 at the Diana Wortham Theatre Sunday, May 20, 2012. Showtimes are 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm. Tickets are on sale now at the Front Desk. Two tickets are included with each student's performance fee -- additional tickets are only $5.00 and are available until Friday, May 18, 2012. For tickets and DVDs just download and fill out the Recital 2012 Ticket & DVD Order Form and bring it by the Front Desk with your payment. In addition, make sure to visit our Spring Recital 2012 tab at our performance page for important information about show times, class line-ups, where to go in the theatre, and much, much more. Keigwin + Company Hosts Master Class at BCA

Keigwin + Company -- one of the hottest modern dance companies anywhere -- hosted a wonderful Master Class on Saturday, March 31 from 12:00 to 1:30 at the BCA studios. Leading the Master Class was Keigwin + Company dancer Jaclyn Walsh. The Master Class was open to the general public and was well attended by many dancers from BCA's Pre-Professional division. Keigwin + Company was in town performing on March 30 and 31 at the Diana Wortham Theatre. Learn more about Keigwin + Company.

Summer Intensive 2012 Auditions Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012

Join us this summer in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina as BCA presents its Summer Intensive 2012. Designed for serious ballet dancers ages 10 and up, BCA's intensive features an all-day curriculum, guest faculty from New York City Ballet and New York City Opera Ballet, and exciting excursions and activities in Asheville, North Carolina's picturesque surroundings.

2:30 to 3:30 Ages 12 to 13
4:00 to 5:00 Ages 14 and over

Dancers must pay a $20 registration fee, submit a completed audition application form and a photograph showing first arabesque. The photo does not need to be professional quality and will not be returned. Girls must wear full-length pink tights, black leotards, and pink ballet shoes. Girls should also bring pointe shoes. Boys must wear full-length black tights, white T-shirts, and black or while ballet shoes. The audition will consist of a one-hour ballet class. Dancers who apply by audition will be notified of their status within 10 days of their audition. Welcome to Ballet Conservatory of Asheville

Welcome! We're Ballet Conservatory of Asheville (BCA) and we're delighted you've taken the opportunity to learn more about us. We offer dance programs for children, teens/adults, and pre-professionals. Included are classes in nearly every major dance form, from ballet and pointe to tap, jazz, hip-hop and modern. We welcome all dancers with any level of experience from ages 3 to adult. In addition to our regular school year programs, we also offer summer classes & workshops for all ages and a summer intensive for serious ballet dancers.

Our philosophy is simple: We want our students to gain good technique, learn proper class etiquette, and enjoy the wonderful world of dance. And while we offer classes in all disciplines, we are primarily a ballet school with a strong pre-professional training program.

Our faculty brings rich professional backgrounds and outstanding teaching and education credentials. BCA's leadership team includes Angie Lynn (Director), Wayne Burritt (Ballet Master), and Christopher Lynn (Managing Director). Our professional facilities are located in the 5 Points Building, 6 East Chestnut Street, Asheville, North Carolina.

We produce the Nutcracker, a Spring ballet, and a Recital each year. Our performances are produced at Asheville's Diana Wortham Theatre, widely considered to be one of the finest dance venues in the U.S.

How To Enroll

Enrolling in BCA's programs is easy. First, discover our different programs and what classes you are interested in. Then, download and fill out a registration form. At that point, please feel free to give us a call at 828-255-5777 or drop by our studios at 6 East Chestnut Street, Asheville. We can help you decide which classes are ideal for you, space availability, and fees. We'll then give you the details about your classes, a copy of our policies and procedures, and you'll be all set.

Children’s Summer Workshops

All workshops meet Monday to Friday. Fees are $155 per week plus $10 summer registration fee for new students. Take $10 off for each additional workshop. Broadway Week is $290 for both morning and afternoon sessions, a savings of $20.

Weekly ballet classes for children meet on Wednesdays. Fees are $80 for the six week session plus $10 summer registration fee for new students. August 1 is make-up day.

Held during the three weeks before and three weeks after BCA's summer intensive.

Payment Options:

1. Unlimited Classes for all 6 weeks $130 or $25 per week.

2. Individual Class drop-in rate $15.
