The 2010-2011 schedule is now available. It's chock full of new classes as well as familiar old ones. Please make sure to ready it over carefully. Plus, it's filled with positive financial news, too: We have not increased our prices this year. And given the tough economic times, that's good news for everyone. BCA Opens State-of-the-Art Dance Facility ... Classes Underway!
BCA's transformation of the historical 5 Points Building into a state-of-the-art dance facility is now complete. And classes are underway!
BCA's new home -- located at 6 East Chestnut Street, Asheville -- is professionally outfitted in every respect: three spacious studios (including a 41 X 30 Main Studio), sprung floors, marley dance surface, mirrors, 12 foot ceilings, bathrooms, dressing rooms, and administrative offices. In addition, there is ample viewing areas, observation areas, and loads of convenient parking. Learn more about our new home.
We invite everyone -- including old friends and yet-to-be made new ones -- to drop by and visit our new home. We are open during all normal class hours. Hope to see you soon!

Pre-Professional Training 2010-2011
Prepare For Your Dance Career With BCA!
BCA's pre-professional division prepares dancers ages 11 and up for careers in the dance profession, post-secondary dance programs and universities, conservatories, and other top pre-professional programs.The intermediate pre-professional program is for dancers ages 11 to 13. The advanced pre-professional program is for dancers ages 14 and over. Admission is by audition. BCA's pre-professional dancers are routinely cast in soloist and corps de ballet roles in BCA's Nutcracker and Spring ballets. Pre-Professional Requirements
Dancers who successfully pass an audtion for the pre-professional program are required to take their level-specific classes, participate in BCA's productions -- including the Nutcracker and Spring ballet -- and attend class throughout the summer, including a recommended BCA summer intensive program. Other requirements include periodic progress conferences with the dancer and their parents, special rehearsals and activities, and absence policy, among others. Pre-Professional Contract
New this season is BCA's Pre-Professional Contract. It lays out the requirements that all BCA pre-pros can expect for this year. The pre-pro dancer and their parent/guardian are required to sign this agreement prior to enrollment. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THIS CONTRACT OVER PRIOR TO THE AUGUST 21st AUDITION! Our Placement Record
Our students have been placed in many of the top-tier ballet schools, academies, and universities in the U.S., including School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre School, San Francisco Ballet School, and New York University/Tisch School of the Arts. In addition, our students have also won positions in leading ballet companies -- including Miami City Ballet, Nashville Ballet, and Ballet Tech -- as well as on Broadway. Pilates Guru Jennifer Gianni To Teach on Saturdays This Fall!
BCA is proud to announce that celebrated pilates guru Jennifer Gianni will teach Pilates on Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:30. Jennifer taught our summer intensive students and we couldn't wait to have her back for the full school year! Jennifer's proprietary "Fusion Pilates" technique has won unparalleled critical acclaim. In addition, her client list includes such luminaries as Academy Award winner Hilary Swank, Maybelline Covergirl Erin Wasson, and "Lost" star Elizabeth Mitchell. Jennifer will teach pilates specifically designed for ballet dancers to both divisions of BCA's summer intensive. Learn more about Fusion Pilates Asheville.

Angie is a graduate of the prestigious Arts Educational School in London, England and a former professional dancer with numerous European companies, including the Vienna Festival Ballet. Most recently, Angie headed the dance program at the Asheville Arts Center. Read Angie's bio.
The Pre-Professional Division -- which Wayne heads-up -- provides high quality, intense ballet instruction for dancers looking to gain acceptance to summer schools, colleges, or other pre-professional ballet programs. Nutcracker Shows Set for December 15 through 17 at the Diana Wortham Theatre!
BCA's holiday classic The Nutcracker will be presented at the Diana Wortham Theatre December 15-17, 2010. Tickets will go on sale soon. Please check back for updates. The shows will be as follows:

Summer Intensive 2011
BCA's Summer Intensive 2011 will run from June 27 to July 23, 2011. We are in the midst of finalizing our plans, including a great slate of guest teachers and outstanding performing opportunities. Auditions will be held in January, 2011. In the meantime, please check out information about our Summer Intensive 2010, which was a huge success and ran from June 28 to July 23, 2010.
